Last chapter I ALMOST commented Lola was like the daughter Clarke didn't know he wanted, but that didn't quite feel right. Confirmed. Wasn't sure if this story was gonna be a twin/doppelganger or portal tear. I don't think you'd mentioned the poster last time we were in the cell, or that would have been the giveaway. I will assume Raquel Welch's career took a very different turn on Mid-Earth... Ah, 70's UK porn... Which means I'm just gonna leave this link, right here: https://youtu.be/vzjr2Dfa8lg

I'll have you know the poster was 100% mentioned the first time they visited the prison. I thought it'd be cheating to not note it in the scene description. :P I think I hid it in the middle of a large paragraph, though, so as to avoid suspicion.

Well, spin my nipple nuts and send me to Alaska, so it is! Right after the framed photo! How silly of me!

Carriage returns are like portal tears - they come and go.

I'll assume those guys started digging and found the portal tear buried in the wall? Otherwise, the guards really weren't paying attention...kinda like me when I read Escapists 2 the first time, I guess. I don't get to be smug here.

Which also means a portal tear can appear in the middle of a solid structure. This could be very bad for an "NPC" in an arc, or could be very bad for a building should one appear in the middle of a load bearing wall. Just a thought...

Ah-HA! A portal tear! I hadn't thought of that, I was still thinking twins maybe or something else; that's brilliant!

Heh: Holland spotting the oddness of a mail-order porn mag just fits. I remain both appalled and impressed by his character.
