This is entirely true. Still finding my way through audio - my thinking so far is to provide it as a sort-of-audiobook, with the newsletter containing the extra behind-the-scenes bits for anyone interested. Though, I do need to actually start pointing that out in the outro.
A lot of the extra newsletter stuff is full of links, which I don't think would translate very well to audio. There is also a time consideration: potentially doubling the recording time might nudge it outside of being possible in the first place.
The auto generated audio read all the way through the newsletter, and didn't have an issue with links, it was clear that something was pointing to external content.
That's a good comparison! That inability to come clean, or to reverse a potentially bad decision. We've all had those moments where something's happened that can't be undone.
I need to catch up with previous chapters... But loved reading your Authors Notes - so interesting to hear how you sorted it out with this publishing model. I think publishing like this really keeps us on our toes, and makes us write more creatively, as you've shown.
Thanks, Debs! I thought it was worth sharing that behind-the-scenes anecdote. Writing in the way I do freaks out a lot of my writer friends, who can't imagine publishing before finishing the entire project. And it is a bit of a weird way to do things - but I think in this case it's a really good example of how it forced an interesting solution. Pretty sure that what I ended up with was better than what I'd have had otherwise.
Do let me know what you think if you get time to check out any of the rest of the story. :)
I agree - it's an interesting way to write serially and I do it too. For me it makes the whole process much more spontaneous and I'm able to weave in all sorts of things /ideas from daily life that wouldn't be there if I wrote it all in one go. I will leave comments as I read backwards! 😊
Absolutely. For me it's also the best fit for the way my brain works: it keeps me coming back consistently, rather than getting distracted by other things.
Appreciate the nice words! 🙂
The new voice over ends with the story, which means having to jump back to the email or the app to find and read the rest of the week's newsletter.

Will ponder on it, though! Thanks, Caz.
Yep, it's awkward.

Is Lola's attempt to clean her clothes akin to Lady Macbeth trying to wash her hands yet unable to remove the bloodstains?

I'll definitely look forward to THAT explanation!
Not long to wait now.....
