The denouement of my novel, The Templar and the Magdalene (a romantasy) starts with pizza. In fact the last chapter of my book is entitled, "The Miracle of Pizza." It ends with the protagonists finally overcoming their hard felt obstacles to loving one another. Homemade bread and the ordinary food in a soup kitchen follow the action and theme of acting in community throughout. Great lecture. Having completed my book (my 3rd novel actually) it was a great checklist which I seem to have fallen into naturally. Thx a bunch.

I think anyone who loves stories and has read/watched a lot of them will intrinsically know most of this stuff already. But I find it useful to state it up front - and it might save a new/young writer a bit of time!

One must learn to put limits. Years ago I started using a great tool for plotting stories (before the developers got greedy). But it was so perfect and entertaining, that all my time went into plotting rather than actually writing.

Thank you for sharing this. I normally only write Flash Fiction but have embarked on my first historical fantasy and a bit lost, this has been helpful.❤️

I only recently started writing. I have no clue about the general best practices and do's and dont's.

To be fair I never even really read any books in fiction or none-fiction until about a year ago.

But since I did, and playing a few amazing games and watching some cool anime, idea's started spinning in my head so much, I just had to get them out. I knew writing was a way of clearing your mind, so I tried.

I laid out a basic plot I wanted to go for and started writing backstory to the world itself.

The magic system, the main character and how he would be, the overarching plot and the main story beats to hit. The rest was just winging it.

No clue if I am writing it correctly but I'm writing what I want, which I believe is important. I'm not aiming to become a best seller, nor do I think I would ever write a full book or even a published novel. But it's fun :)

Thanks for the great video :) It made some things clearer for me ^_^

I think I instinctively already do a lot of what you told. though maybe not as good as it should be XD
