I’ve just updated the Tales from the Triverse ebook, which is by far the best way to catch up on the story, collecting over two years of major stories, one-shots and bonuses into a single volume that you can load up on your phone, tablet or e-reader.
Much easier than clicking through a bjillion newsletter posts.
The ebook now includes:
Over 200,000 words, which according to the internet would make it a very long novel if it were published traditionally, or more likely split in half and made into two novels. Although, according to this Reedsy blog, Triverse would be immediately dumped onto the slush pile and ignored, for being too inconveniently long to sell. Fortunately, not an issue when I’m serialising it online to you lovely people.1
21 major storylines across the 3 seasons. Including classics2 like:
The koth, in which I pull the rug out from under you right at the start of the whole thing while you’re still getting comfy.
Backdoors, in which a mage refugee attempts to reclaim some of his lost status - with dire consequences, obviously.
The creature, which finds me at my most excessive, with full kaiju-in-London vibes.
Zealots, which involves a cultish leader having to explain himself to actual gods.
Pet shop, the one where you have to beware of the rug.
9 one-shots, which are quick single-chapter affairs, such as:
One night in the future: the spicy one with Chakraborty and Kaminski.
The writer: a science fiction writer in the far future laments the inevitable death of the genre.
Calculating the future: an AI megaship ponders life while diving in and out of Jupiter’s atmosphere and playing a long-distance game with an AI friend.
Plus! all the fun bonuses, including newspaper articles, coroner reports, extracts from scientific papers, private diaries and television scripts.
Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy writing Tales from the Triverse? It’s not a simple thing to put together, but it’s a really fun playground.
The ebook is exclusive to the paid subscription, and I want to make it very clear that it’s completely fine if you’re not up for that. The stories continue to be entirely free to read on the Friday newsletter, and I’ve got no plans to change that. You can check them out here. But if you’ve read a few chapters, enjoyed them, and fancy diving in deeper, the ebook is 100% the most enjoyable way to get the full experience.
Thanks as always for reading! Downloads for the ebook coming up…
