So, wanna tell me where you came up ⬆️ with "towers formed in the heart of active volcanoes"? Those exist right here on middle earth, did you know? I've actually seen one, first hand. Don't know if all volcanoes have them, but Mount Baker does. Till tomorrow...
I'd love to be able to tell you! Alas, my brain doesn't rewind back to June 2022, so I can't remember precisely where it came from. I think it was wanting a series of vivid images that were very clearly not things that could exist on Mid-Earth or Max-Earth, and to have them largely unexplained.
I should probably set a story around one these towers. They'd be cool to visit! Would love to know more about Mount Baker.
Thank you for your reply. Baker is an 11,000 ft , steaming, glaciated volcano in northern Washington state (USA). The towers are (or were at the time I stood there ) inside the volcano crater. Made me imagine having a Batman-grappling hook to throw over the edge, climb up and look inside. That would of course be impossible.) I suppose I asked because I didn't know whether you pulled that out of your creative hat or if you'd actually seen such a thing on another mountain.
When I started reading Triverse, it was mostly just to see what it was about and learn more about releasing a novel online. Now I'm looking forward to it every night and am getting attached to the team. Which is exactly what I aspire to do in my book. Create a team you can get attached to and feel part of.
Sounds amazing. I tried to find some photos earlier but failed — it was all long distance shots of the entire mountain.
So glad to hear that you’ve become interested in Triverse as you’ve dipped into it. It does serve a dual function — even for people not directly interested in it as a story, it’s there as an example of all the stuff I’m talking about in the writing tips posts. Evidence that I (mostly) know what I’m talking about, and a useful example for anyone thinking of doing a similar project.
That it has also begun to entertain you is lovely to hear!
That would be useful! Maybe there should be a service where you go to sleep, and then they push your bed through the portal so that you transit while unconscious. :P
Well, we've been in the heads of all the SDC DCs now. Bakker is working with the angels, else he'd have not gone to Zoltan, so... The baddie in SDC is a DCI. Is it Miller? Did you tar my family name? 😉
"It is travelling to a foreign dimension that causes people most difficulty." Or getting in touch with the magic you don't know you can channel...yet.
Still loving it, Simon.

I’m just as excited as Lola is to see what Palinor is like. There’s a market there for dimensional travel sickness tablets.

Thanks for reading, Rosie!
Well, remind me to cross "travel to another dimension" off my bucket list because that doesn't sound fun at all. Lola has my sympathies.
Ah, caught up to your Covid bout.
