Once we're in our final house I'll have to eventually do a bookshop tour - which will be insane as it's not an exaggeration to say Laura and I brought literal tons of books with us.

Flowers for Algernon is incredible - I've not read it since I was a teen, but it's plot and themes are seared into my brain.

Little joking jab at beginning with JMS's "Becoming Superman," and then utterly skipping over his rather brilliant "Earth Two" Superman. The sequence with the cat gets ya every time (and was JMS working through the grief of losing his cat, Buddy).

Gaiman - respecting the art if not the artist is a tough topic, perhaps for another time. I can hold onto my existing Gaiman and appreciate his words while deciding not to buy any more of his works and giving him money. Same with Orson Scott Card, Larry Niven, and a whole host of other books, comics, TV shows, movies, and music I own. I can appreciate the Ender books, even if the author fails to live up to the tolerance of his creation. I can appreciate Arthur C. Clarke, even if he did move to Sri Lanka and do questionable things with little boys. I can still read Heinlein despite him being a homophobic fascist (at least he's not sexist or racist?). I can laugh at the stand up of Bill Cosby, despite him being scum. I can appreciate David Bowie and Prince despite both them dallying with 14 year old girls. And I can do that while mourning the fact that all of them - and more - were less than stellar humans.

I was able to watch this live and I really enjoyed it. Thank you for taking time to do it. I loved seeing all of your books and clocking the many titles that we share in common. The only criticism I have to offer is that your shelves really need a little Cad Bane love.

A big difference between your bookshelf and all of mine is that you’ve actually read all your books where I’ve just been collecting most of them. One exception is Y: The Last Man, which I heard about from a friend, and bought the full hardcover omnibus. Cool story: the artist Pia Guerra lives in my hometown! If I can ever make it to a comic con I might ask her to sign it.

My internet failed on my stream too which is strange because that never happens to me.
