💬 What did you achieve in 2024?

Looking back, before looking forward

It’s been another dramatic year, with reality once again attempting to undermine the best efforts of us fiction writers. I’m just glad I don’t write satire.

There have been challenges along the way, and this time of year can bring its own difficulties. I hope you’re all having a wonderful time in the holidays — but, if you’re not, then here’s to 2025 bringing something better.

Before we look to the future, I want to take stock of the last 12 months.

What’s been your main achievement in 2024? It can be big or small. It doesn’t have to be writing-related, or a creative project.

I always wish I’d done more, no matter how busy I’ve actually been. It’s easy to focus on the negative and the opportunities missed. That’s precisely why it’s important to pause and acknowledge what has been accomplished.
